The theme street of 40 stairs is historical and characteristic place which represents joys and sorrows of war refugees during the Korean War. The theme street expands from the Jungang-dong branch of Kookmin Bank to the 40 stairs Cultural Center and the Pal-sung Tour. If you go there, you can see some interesting bronze statues and historical things.

This song expresses refugees' feeling well and the name of the 40 stairs was used at the first on the song. The 40 stairs were widely known since this song became a hit sing in the 1950s.
